This project reflects the development of an Elementary Mathematics Video Library
that addresses fundamental mathematics concepts across the elementary mathematics
curriculum. The mathematical content of the video library addresses the following
areas:
- Numeration (Whole Numbers and Fractions)
- Geometry (Plane and Solid)
- Measurement (Customary and Metric)
- Probability
- Algebraic Reasoning
The goal of this project is to provide conceptual support for preservice teachers
preparing to teach mathematics and inservice teachers seeking empowerment to
teach mathematics to young children. All videos will be presented via narration.
Each video will include peer-to-peer interactions. The remaining videos will
be presented via narration. Each video will be available in an electronic format
(on the web) and will be accompanied by a
guidesheet (worksheet). Context specific quizzes have been included to provide a self-assessment for the user. and
feedback
form that includes an assessment component.
