Teaching Areas: children's responses to literature, literature for social justice, and critical theory

Teaching Experience:   elementary school teacher for five years; lecturer at Syracuse University for five years

Research Interests:   content analyses of literature, especially historical fiction and multicultural literature children's responses to literature and the impact of books on literacy acquisition, history of a lesbian recreational athletic organization, LGBT families.

Grants or Projects: Collaborates with Drs. Fu and Fang on professional development in literacy (writing, literature and reading) for classroom teachers.
