Out of State Certification
NOTE: The state of Florida does not issue certificates until the applicant is employed by a Florida school district.
- Contact the state department of education for the state in which you wish to seek employment to determine their criteria for certification/employment.
- Ask about certification examinations for that state. If it is Praxis, you can get registration materials from the COE Office of Student Services in room G416 Norman Hall.
- Complete your NCATE and state-approved program so you have that endorsement on your transcript. The NCATE endorsement is recognized by a large number of states nationwide.
