Admissions
The Educational Technology program adheres to the admission guidelines set by our home department, the School of Teaching and Learning.
Ed.D. Admission Guidelines ***
- The Ed.D. program accepts applications for programs starting in the Fall semester after the applicant completes all prerequisite requirements, including a Master’s degree in Educational Technology or a related field. Master’s degrees in other fields will be evaluated and applicants will be individually advised as to their prerequisite requirements.
- Ed.D. applicants must also submit an Admission Agreement regarding the expectations of the program with their application. Applications will not be processed without this Agreement.
- Ed.D. applicants may also be asked to participate in a telephone interview with faculty prior to acceptance.
- Ed.D. applicants should select Ph.D. on the standard university application and clearly articulate their Ed.D. intent within their purpose statement. The Ed.D. is an Education-specific degree so it does not appear on the university-wide application. Our Admissions staff will ensure the application is reviewed for the correct degree.
- Ed.D. applicants who wish to transfer from another program such as the Ed.S. do not need to complete a new application. They should complete this form to switch programs. These applicants may wish to modify their purpose statement and solicit different letters of recommendation.
- Ed.D. applicants who have recently received a degree from UF do not need to complete a new application. They could complete this form for readmission. These applicants will need to modify their purpose statement and solicit different letters of recommendation.
***We reserve the right to postpone the start of an Ed.D. cohort until a sufficient number of students have been accepted.
