FAQs will be added as needed. Please send suggestions for FAQs to Kara Dawson.

Why should I earn my degree from UF's College of Education?
UF is one of only 17 public, land-grant universities that belongs to the Association of American Universities. In addition, the College of Education continues to rank among America’s best education colleges. The college ranked 25th in the US News & World Report 2006 rankings of America’s Best Graduate Education Schools—its second consecutive year in the top 25. UF ranks 15th among public education schools of the elite Association of American Universities.

How does UF's tuition for online classes to compare to other institutions?
As you explore options for your online education you will find our prices are remarkably competitive. For example the University of Phoenix charges $570 per credit hour or $1710 per 3-credit course. Capella University charges $337.50 per credit hour or 1012.50 per 3-credit course.

Why is tuition higher for online classes?
The College charges $77/credit hour for all online courses because of the higher costs associated with the development, delivery and support of online environments. All students enrolled in online classes are charged this fee whether they are in-state or out-of-state students.

Why are there different tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state students?
In most state-supported schools out-of-state students pay higher tuition and student fees. For our online courses out-of-state students pay $5/credit hour more than in-state students but are also subjected to higher student fees as regulated by the Provost's office.

What happens after I register for a class?
You will receive an email with information about accessing the course the day the course begins. It is critical that you check your UF email account to obtain this information. If you do not receive an email by 4 PM the first day of class, contact Leslie Merryman immediately (lmerryman@coe.ufl.edu).

How do I drop a class?
Please visit this section of our website for information about dropping a class.

How do I know what grade I earned in a course?
UF doesn't automatically mail out grades. To view your grade, login to ISIS: https://www.isis.ufl.edu/cgi-bin/nirvana?MDASTRAN=RSI-XCRIPT (you must know your GatorLink account username and password). NOTE: You will not be able to view grades until the end of UF's official semester.

How do I obtain an official transcript?
To obtain an official transcript, fax or mail in this form: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/pdf/transcriptreq.pdf

NOTE: You will not be able to request an official transcript until the end of UF's official semester. If you need proof of completion immediately, contact Leslie Merryman (lmerryman@coe.ufl.edu).

Do online courses require textbooks?
Just as in face-to-face courses, this depends on the instructor.

What are UF's in-state residency requirements?
You can find information about Residency requirements here: http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/residency/. If you still have questions you can contact Criser Hall at 352-392-1374. Residency issues are handled at the university rather than college level.

What type of financial aid is available?
You may explore the following options available from the College of Education and the University of Florida. Note that these are very competitive award programs. In addition, traditional financial aid avenues may be applied to online programs.
