Mission Statement
The Office of Instructional Technology, Faculty Development Center provides support to faculty in the form of one to many workshops as well as one to one support sessions, both of which are designed to assist faculty in the development of technology rich instruction and research. It is our goal and responsibility to support faculty as they begin to develop and implement 21st century pedagogies.
History
The Office of Instructional Technology began in the Fall of 2000, when it was recognized by the Dean of the College of Education that faculty members needed and wanted assistance in the implementation of technology in their college classrooms. In an attempt to support innovative teaching, the Faculty Development Center was established. Through the FDC faculty can attend a variety of workshops ranging from web design, creating multimedia presentations or digital imaging. In addition, faculty can request the assistance of a consultant to help with the development of course materials or online course segments.
