Phillip A. Clark is a professor of Educational Leadership and Director of the Stewart Mott Davis Center for Community Education. He has served in these two positions since he came to the University of Florida in 1972. Dr. Clark came to Florida from Michigan, where he worked in both public schools and at the university level. He is a recognized leader in the fields of leadership and community education. Dr. Clark has represented the United States, Canada and Bermuda on the International Community Education Executive Board and has been a board member of both the national and state community education associations; the latter for 28 years.
He is the author of numerous nationally and internationally recognized publications, including Life-Centering Education written with Edward G. Olsen. Dr. Clark teaches advanced graduate courses in educational leadership and serves as a consultant and trainer for both public and private organizations. He has served as a trainer and consultant in 39 states and 8 foreign countries, and has received distinguished service awards from Phi Delta Kappa, the National Community Education Association, the Florida Association for Community Education, and the Adult and Community Educators of Florida, Inc.
