The Coalition for the Education of Exceptional Students
(CEES) is an association of parent and professional organizations who are interested in issues
related to the education of students with disabilities and students who are gifted.
Since 1972, representatives from about 30 organizations have brought concerns and initiatives
to the Coalition for consideration and input. Members vote on whether to include these issues in the CEES
legislative platform for the coming year or to address them in other ways. An Information Specialist advocates
for our issues in Tallahassee, with legislative committees, individual senators and representatives, and their
staff. CEES members provide information to elected representatives as well as appointed policy makers. CEES
is the voice of exceptional students and their families in the state capital.
Bringing issues to the Coalition can also serve as a way to sound out a knowledgable and concerned
group of people on various ideas - a forum to see what issues are shared and a good way to network for
mutual support.
Please note that the CEES email address is CEES2005@att.net.
