         Dale F. Campbell and his associates, in conjunction with the Community College Press, present The Leadership Gap: Model Strategies for Leadership Development. 
         Many current community college leaders, administrators and faculty members are quickly approaching retirement—and quite a few of them plan to retire within the next six years.  The Leadership Gap addresses the importance of developing new community college leaders and presents case studies of community colleges with exceptional leadership development programs.  These case studies include recruitment, selection, and orientation programs and focus on leadership development from within the organization. 
         In addition to their own strategies, the authors describe their colleges’ experiences as part of the Institute of Higher Education’s 21st Century Educational Leadership Profiles Project (now the Community College Leadership Consortium).
